The story picks up where the first film left off. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is still reeling from the death of his ex-wife, Lenore (Forest Whitaker). However, his life takes a dramatic turn when his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and her new husband Ethan (Cliff Curtis) are kidnapped by a group of Albanian terrorists seeking revenge for the death of their leader in the first film.
