Internal cameras are particularly fraught. While a nursery camera helps you watch a sleeping infant, a living room camera can become a tool for unhealthy surveillance between spouses or a way for parents to micromanage teenagers. Privacy experts warn that children raised under constant internal monitoring may develop anxiety and a normalized acceptance of surveillance that follows them into adulthood.
