Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is a 2008 satirical crime-comedy that has evolved from an "unlucky" box office release into a cult classic. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film is a sharp, witty commentary on the Indian middle class's obsession with consumerism and social status.

Beyond the loot, Lucky craves the respectability and social standing of a city gentleman. He moves through elite Delhi social circles, charming and then robbing the wealthy.

While on the surface it follows the audacious robberies of Lucky Singh (Abhay Deol)—inspired by the real-life "Superchor" Bunty—the film is actually about a man trying to "steal" a sense of belonging and dignity.
