The Axis 206M cannot do H.264 or H.265 compression; it only does Motion JPEG, which consumes massive bandwidth. Modern $40 Wi-Fi cameras offer 1080p with better codecs. However, the 206M is built like a tank, supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), and has no cloud subscription. For hobbyists, a verified live view via RTSP in VLC is perfectly functional.
After some trial and error, I successfully got the live view working again. For those unfamiliar, this is an old M-JPEG network camera. Modern browsers block its native stream, but here’s the verified setup that works as of today. ntitlelive view axis 206m verified
