The plot follows Kavya Pratap Singh (Alia Bhatt), a feisty girl from Ambala who travels to Delhi to find an expensive designer wedding dress for her upcoming arranged marriage. While in Delhi, she meets Humpty Sharma (Varun Dhawan), a carefree local lad. Despite her impending marriage to the "too good to be true" Angad (Sidharth Shukla), Humpty and Kavya fall in love.
