: This version introduced support for graphics cards to speed up the Develop module. While initial implementation was rocky, it significantly improved the responsiveness of image browsing and editing on high-resolution displays.
In the Develop module, the Graduated Filter and Radial Filter tools were enhanced with a new brush feature. This allowed photographers to create a mask using the filter and then use a brush to erase or add areas to that mask selectively. This provided greater precision for localized adjustments (such as brightening a specific subject while leaving the background untouched).
